Australian photographer Glenn Sloggett champions the lost and bedraggled pieces of contemporary life in his series Decrepit. A poet of the suburbs, Sloggett’s images are compelling in their banal melancholy. From family pet graves to strange and sad shop mannequins, Decrepit showcases those elements which we try to ignore or escape. A self-proclaimed “memorializer of the unwanted, unloved and overlooked,” Sloggett’s series finds value in the forgotten and declares failure far more heroic than dishonesty.
