‘Millennium Park, Moscow, Russia, 2009.’ From Martin Adolfsson‘s Suburbia Gone Wild, a project exploring the model homes and suburban landscape of the 21st century, shot around the world in the suburbs of Bangkok, Shanghai, Bangalore, Cairo, Moscow, Johannesburg, Sao Paulo and Mexico City.
Oh, the suburbs—bright, shiny cookie cutter homes and landscaped lawns; gated communities on the outskirts of town. Depending on who you talk to, these places are either appealing or repulsive, but arguably an oddly intriguing phenomenon nonetheless. The theme for the next Feature Shoot online group show will be ‘Suburbia.’
Generously sponsored by Squarespace, the top three photographers from the show will be awarded with a free one year subscription. Squarespace is the website publishing platform that makes it simple to create professional web pages, blogs and galleries all in one place. With the photographer in mind, they offer templates that are 100% customizable and user-friendly.
The show will be curated by Tara Guertin, Director of Photography at Afar Magazine.
Selected photos will run on Feature Shoot once and through our social media channels. Copyright will remain with the photographer.
Photographers are invited to submit up to five images (620 pixels wide, 72 dpi, saved for web under 100kb) titled with your name and the number of the image: yourname_01.jpg. Please include captions with the image. Please include your full name and website in the email and submit to [email protected] with “suburbia show” in the subject line.
