Angie & Honey
Photographer Julie Grace Immink investigates memory and community in her series Next Door Neighbor, a documentation of her old neighborhood and her present one. The subjects of this particular photo are Immink’s childhood neighbor Angie and her dog Honey, posed for a portrait on their couch. Immink’s brother gave Honey to their widowed neighbor as a gift, keeping her company in a suburb of mostly quiet retirees. The photo is part of Immink’s first self published book Waiting for the Sun, featuring a small collection of photos saturated with thoughts on life, death, faith and community.
