From great height, travel photographer Mark Weinberg captures the twists and turns of the Trollstigen road along the Romsdalsalpene mountain range in Møre og Romsdal County, Norway. Composed of eleven razor-sharp turns, the unusually steep road sees hundreds of thousands of tourists annually. Atop several viewing platforms, visitors soak in rushing waterfalls and expansive valleys—not to mention the mountains, which are as so tall as to warrant names like the King, the Queen, and the Bishop.
Extending for 106 kilometers and to 620 meters above sea level, the Trollstigen promises fresh mountain air and unparalleled views. Under Weinberg’s aerial gaze, the popular road appears all the more magnificent and treacherous, a narrow man-made pathway coiled within a vast realm dominated by the wild whims of nature.
