Photo du Jour: Praia dos Aivados Beach

In 2011, photographer Alessandro Puccinelli purchased an old Hymer motorhome and decided to set off on a long journey along the southern coast of Portugal. Spending the majority of his time alone, he was able to focus his energy on capturing the ocean, which remains his primary passion in both life and photography.

Every night, right before he went to sleep, Puccinelli would take a small hike away from his campsite, set his camera to a long exposure, and photograph his van and the sea. While camping on one of his favorite beaches, Praia dos Aivados, he captured this image of a magnificent star dotted sky, the cool blue ocean below, and the soft glow of light left on in his temporary home.
