Few events are more quintessentially Americana than a State Fair. Colorful characters and atmosphere collide amidst an abundance of food, rides, and local culture. These fairs draw crowds from all over the immediate and surrounding area to showcase their livestock, agricultural feats, and state pride over a few fun-filled days. Whether you are a spectator or regular participant in state fair activities, we want to see your photographs of this fascinating American tradition.
Our judge will be Kat Kiernan, Editor-in-Chief of Don’t Take Pictures. As the former Owner and Director of The Kiernan Gallery, she has designed and managed numerous thematic exhibitions, curating both solo and pop-up shows. She has reviewed portfolios for Photolucida’s Critical Mass, PhotoNOLA, FotoWeek DC, and lectured on photography at various institutions. Kat currently resides in Brooklyn, New York where she works as an art critic and photographer.
