Our international project The Print Swap has two new group exhibitions running through the month of January, each taking place on opposite ends of the earth. Our partners at Endorffeine Coffee Bar in Chinatown, Los Angeles and Chapter One Cafe and Wine Bar across from Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, will host a selection of hand-picked photographs from recent Print Swap participants. This month’s exhibiting artists hail from cities around the world, with home bases in the United States, Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and Mexico.
Like The Print Swap itself, this month’s winning photographs remind us of the interconnectedness of our planet. They take us on a journey through the remote corners of Iceland, through the winding roads of the Faroe Islands, and into the vast salt flats of Bolivia. The open sky is a recurring motif throughout both shows, with photographs of sunrises, midnight skies, and blood moons punctuating terrestrial landscapes from around the globe.
Heading into 2020, we have some exciting news for The Print Swap. In addition to continuing monthly exhibitions at Endorffeine Coffee Bar and Chapter One Cafe and Wine Bar, we’re adding a group exhibition opportunity at the beautiful Friends of Ours cafe in London. Participating photographers who swap more than two photographs will also be eligible for consideration for solo shows at the pristine Hackney Coffee Company in East London.
Print Swap photographers will now have more options when selecting the print they’d like to receive. In the past, each print could only be swapped once, but we’ve decided to unlock the potential for unlimited swaps. That means that if you see a photo you love, and it’s been marked “unlimited,” you can claim it for yourself–even if someone else has already beat you to it.
In short, Print Swap photographers in 2020 will have more exhibition opportunities and more swapping choices than ever before, and we can’t wait to see your submissions! Learn more at our website, and follow along @theprintswap on Instagram for updates.
