Now in its seventh year, The Feature Shoot Emerging Photography Awards is back and better than ever. We’re giving this year’s winners opportunities to exhibit their work as part of gallery shows in Berlin and Paris, be featured in street exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York City, and have their work published as part of Feature Shoot’s Emerging Photographers photo book. In total, this year’s winning photographers will have their work seen by hundreds of thousands of people!
Submitting photographers will also have the chance to get their work in front of this year’s all-star jury–the largest in Emerging Photography Awards history!–comprising more than twenty industry leaders. This year’s jury includes photo editors from prominent publishers and magazines including National Geographic, WIRED, TIME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, Vox, and more. The panel also features movers and shakers at some of the most important galleries, organizations, and collectives in the industry, including Flowers Gallery, the Vermont Center for Photography, and CENTER in Santa Fe. Check out the full judging panel on our website for details.
For the first time, we’re dividing the Emerging Photography Awards into two categories: Series and Single Images. The theme for Single Images is Show us Today’s World Through Your Lens. The theme for Series is open. Twelve Series winners will have their work exhibited in two group shows: one at Paris’s Studio Galerie B&B, located between Canal Saint-Martin and Gare de ‘Est, and one at Berlin’s BBA Gallery. 30 Single Image winners will be part of a street exhibition in Los Angeles, and another 30 will be chosen to be featured in a street exhibition in New York.
100 photographers will be selected to show work in our first-ever Feature Shoot Emerging Photographers photo book. We’re also giving away inspiring photo books every two weeks to photographers selected as part of our fortnightly People’s Choice Award. The announcement of the winners will reach a combined audience of more than half a million photography lovers.
We’re also thrilled to announce that some of our judges, including Anna Goldwater Alexander from WIRED, Sarah Gilbert from The Guardian, Marcia L. Allert from The Dallas Morning News, Erik Vroons from GUP, curator Karen Comer Lowe, author Lauri Lyons, and influential photographers Russell Frederick and Diane Allford, are available for portfolio reviews at the cost of just $150 for 30 minutes.
Entries are now open! Submit your photos before our deadline on August 31st for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to have your work seen by some of the most important voices in the photography community. From gallery and public art exhibitions to inclusion in our photo book, we’re offering more opportunities than ever to further your career, and we can’t wait to see your submissions.
