Feature Shoot is thrilled to announce our upcoming exhibitions at the world-renowned Indian Photo Festival in Hyderabad, India. All photographers who participated in The Print Swap during our open call to be included in our digital exhibition, with 25 select pictures also featuring in a printed show, as selected by our jury. Those 25 images come from artists working around the globe, with home bases in India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, The Netherlands, Greece, Germany, and Russia.
While there is no fixed theme for the show, two motifs recur throughout the collection: the refuge offered by nature and the hustle and bustle of city life. While these two themes might seem paradoxical, they harmonize in mysterious ways. In the Mumbai airport, Suhitha Shetty photographs a lone figure in a vast and empty architectural expanse. Yvan Bedard does something similar when capturing tiny people against the majestic Montmorency Falls almost 12,000 miles away.
In New York, Vin Sharma celebrates summertime memories with a dip in the fountain, while George Koutsouvelis does the same with a visit to the beach in Greece. Meanwhile, Nikhat Fatima captures the magical scenes that can be found in a single drop of water. From the lilypad-laden waters of Australia (Ernesto Sumarkho) to the busy streets of Cairo (Jonathan Jasberg), we hope these photographs capture what makes each of our homes unique–and what ties us all together.
Special thanks to our jurors, Feature Shoot’s Alison Zavos, Aquin Matthews from the Indian Photo Festival, Maarten Schilt of Schilt Publishing, and Anna G. Dickson from Google, for curating this printed exhibition. You can see this work and others from The Print Swap on view at the Indian Photography Festival in Hyderabad from November 19th to December 19th, 2021.
