Alison Brady‘s work is a strange and tantalizing sight, her imagery vacillating between fascination and horror consumed in a surreal netherworld. Her upcoming exhibition What Should Remain Secret further explores ideas of alienation, compulsion and sexuality. It’s the bizarre contrast of the commonplace and the nightmare that makes the viewer feel they are in a dark psychological place. In this dreamworld, the unexpected upsets our immediate ability to read the image, allowing for more subconscious, uncomfortable ideas of desire and perversity to take center stage.
What Should Remain Secret is presented by Elizabeth Houtson Projects in collaboration with Rick Wester Fine Art. The exhibition will take place June 12th – August 1st, 2014 at Rick Wester Fine Art in New York City.
