Kawaguchiko #6, 2003, From the book, Ever After, 2014.

For Ever After, Tokyo-based photographer Asako Narahashi captures landscapes as seen from the water, inverting the perspective of the typical landscape shot to leave us stranded within a vast aquatic expanse. This 2003 image looks out on Mount Fuji from Lake Kawaguchiko; in October, Narahashi explains, the water was chilled. Here, the crest of a small wave mirrors the shape of the famous mountain peak, and the two structures stand side by side, one permanent and immovable, the other lasting only for an instant before flowing away into oblivion.
